An earthquake that struck Indonesia’s main island of Java on Monday killed nearly 20 people and injured at least 300, a local official from the city hardest hit by the quake told local media.
“According to the information I received for the time being, almost 20 people have died in this hospital alone and at least 300 people are being treated. Most of them had broken bones because they were pinched by ruined buildings,” Cianjur administration head Herman Suherman told Metro TV.
