For starters, Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion received a new trailer, revealing that actor Idris Elba will be playing Solomon Reed, an FIA agent for NUSA. How cool is that? No longer the butt of many jokes, the game had a cool anime and a wave of players, going as far as another major Hollywood actor to play a character.
I’m impressed, but not as impressed, after watching the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gameplay premiere. In the trailer, we see an older, grizzled Cal Kestis and his enhanced Jedi abilities, which include a new lightsaber stance where he wields two swords at once for fast, powerful attacks. A new mobility option – a grappling hook, Cal riding various animals, fighting alongside a companion and wielding a Kylo Ren-like saber. We also got confirmation of Survivor’s release date of March 17th after a few rumors leaked earlier this week.
Another game with a confirmed release date is Final Fantasy 16. The game has a brand new trailer and the official date is June 22nd.
The trailer showed off more of the fast-paced action gameplay we’ve seen in previous trailers, as well as a look at Espers that players will find throughout the adventure. The Esper on horseback appears to be Odin, while a new demonic Esper attacks the hero Clive Rosfield. Later in the trailer, Rosfield summons an Esper of his own in Ifrit and uses it in battle.
