The Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) announced that it has officially launched the “Virtual Pag-IBIG Mobile App” to bring its services closer to members as it celebrated its 42nd anniversary last Wednesday.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the achievements of the Pag-IBIG Fund over the years and welcomed the launch of its official mobile app through a recorded message for the agency.
“Over the years, the Pag-IBIG Fund has stayed true to its goal of fulfilling the dreams of millions of Filipinos by providing secure savings programs and reliable and affordable home loans,” said Marcos.
“Today we also welcome the launch of the ‘Virtual Pag-IBIG Mobile Application’. The app will bring Pag-IBIG Fund services and benefits to every Filipino,” added the President. “Consistent with this administration’s unwavering commitment to digitizing and streamlining our services, you can rest assured that this administration is committed to assisting you in the implementation of housing and development programs and initiatives.”
Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), who also chairs the Pag-IBIG Fund’s 11-member Board of Trustees, meanwhile, assured members that the Pag-IBIG Fund will continue to use information technology to improve its processes and services.
“Congratulations to Pag-IBIG Fund for launching Virtual Pag-IBIG Mobile App. This service innovation will significantly help deliver social benefits to our compatriots in the Philippines, in line with President Marcos’ call to maximize the use of information technology in the delivery of public services,” stated Acuzar.
Marilene C. Acosta, CEO of Pag-IBIG Fund, demonstrated the service features and user-friendly interface of the agency’s mobile app during the launch.
“With the Virtual Pag-IBIG Mobile App, our members can now retrieve their Pag-IBIG Member ID number, view their housing or short-term loan status, make online payments and create a Virtual Pag-IBIG account by using only their smartphones. In addition, once our members have their own Pag-IBIG virtual accounts, they can also view their savings and annual dividends, their loan balances and maturities, and their payment records,” Acosta said. “And we will be adding even more features to the mobile app in the coming months. With the Virtual Pag-IBIG Mobile App, we are literally putting our services in the palm of every member’s palm.”
The Virtual Pag-IBIG Mobile App can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play. The mobile app has been downloaded by more than 750,000 users since the beta version was released in August this year.
