BERLIN (Reuters) – German industrial production grew in September, official data showed on Monday, despite a slowdown in energy-intensive industries and ongoing supply shortages.

According to the Federal Statistical Office, industrial production increased by 0.6% compared to the previous month. In a Reuters poll, analysts pointed to an increase of 0.2%.

In contrast, production in energy-intensive industries fell by 0.9% in September, the agency said.

For August, the Office revised its reading to -1.2% from -0.8% previously.
