Callisto protocol patch adds ray-traced reflections on Xbox Series X

The Callisto protocol didn’t have the smoothest start and suffered from some performance issues in certain scenarios. A new patch is now available on console that includes bug fixes and improvements, as well as a new graphics feature for Xbox Series X.

Gamers playing on Microsoft’s most powerful console will now see ray-traced reflections. There are more improvements to come. “We work daily on optimizations for all platforms and listen to your feedback,” developer Striking Distance said on Twitter. “Thank you for your patience.”

Studio manager Glen Schofield commented Also on the patch it says the developer “listen, fix, optimize and update”. The full patch notes don’t seem to have been made available, but we’ll add them here if they are.

This was the second patch for The Callisto Protocol this week, following an earlier update that included improvements to PC performance. Players on PC should now see less stuttering, with more optimizations at work to further improve the experience.

We listen to your feedback and work hard to keep optimizing PC performance. Today we released a new PC update that improves PSO caching and further reduces stuttering issues. More PC and console tweaks are currently in the works. Stay tuned.

In other news, Striking Distance has teamed up with an alcohol company to create an official Callisto Protocol beer that features heavy and potent 9% ABV.
